Alexandra "Ali" Mackenzie Smith
1996-2018
Our beautiful Alexandra "Ali" Mackenzie Smith left us for Heaven at 2:07 p.m., on Wednesday August 15, 2018. Ali was welcomed into this world as Alexandra Mackenzie Cook, by her mother, brother, and father, on April 3, 1996, at Mercy Hospital in OKC. Ali graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 2014 and attended UCO through May 2018.
Ali met her soulmate, Cody Smith, in 2015 and from the moment they met, they were inseparable. Ali told her friends she knew Cody was the one, because he made her feel beautiful and safe. Ali and Cody were married on March 10, 2018 surrounded by family and friends in a ceremony in Luther, OK, she called it "The Best Day of Her Life". Ali and Cody were in the process of closing on their first home in Edmond, OK. Ali was currently working at Oklahoma Electrical Supply Co., OESCO, with Cody and her "Daddy".
Ali is survived by her husband, Cody, fur babies Beau and Trapper; parents Kevin and Tammy Cook, brother Kory Cook and wife Lakan, nieces Rowan (4) and Sloane (1); grandparents JD and Wanda Kitzmiller; grandparents Leroy and Karen Cook; aunt and uncle Lisa and Gary Rondina; and cousins, Tiffany Grant-Evans and husband Brett, Tara Grant, and Taylor Grant. Ali was very grateful for the chance to become a part of Cody's family over the last few years.
Ali loved spending time with her nieces Rowan and Sloane, and was very excited about moving into her dream home with Cody. She had spent countless hours looking for decorating ideas and shopping for items to go in their house. Ali wanted a houseful of boys and already had all of their names picked out.
She had asked for and received a hunting rifle for Christmas, and was excited at the opportunity to take her first buck with Cody this fall. Ali enjoyed many things, the lake, the outdoors, spicy foods, shopping, music, taking selfies, tattoos with meaning, and her dogs; but most of all, Ali loved spending time with her family and friends telling stories and laughing. Ali had many great attributes including being fiercely loyal to those she loved and having a wicked sense of humor. Ali made the selfless choice to be an organ donor at the age of 16. Because of this, she was able to share her heart, lungs, liver, and kidneys, to help save the lives of others.
A celebration of Ali's life will take place at 2:00 p.m., on Sunday 8/26/18, at Eleven Oaks Ranch located at 21601 Diagonal Rd., Luther, OK 73054. Family and friends are encouraged to come and celebrate Ali's beautiful life by sharing stories and experiences enjoyed with her.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite animal rescue shelter in Ali's name.
