Anna Elizabeth Calvo

Anna E. Calvo was born in 1944 to Stephen and Olga Gregus in New York, NY and raised in Manhattan on the Upper East Side.  Growing up in what was then a Slovak community, the Gregus family would eventually grow to a total of six children (John, Stephen, Joseph, Barbara and Michael), with Anna being the second oldest child.  She would go on to graduate from Julia Richman High School in 1961.

After graduating from high school, Anna worked at Eastern Airlines as an Executive Assistant.  She met her future husband, Alfred Calvo, while ice skating at Iceland.  They would eventually marry in 1966 and go on to have two children, William and Ann Marie.

In 1972 they moved from New York City down to Bayville, NJ where they enjoyed a life by the shore.  Anna would eventually gain employment with Berkeley Township starting in their Treasury Department in 1979 and retiring in 2011 serving as the Personnel Director.

After retiring, Anna (and Al) moved to Edmond, OK to simply be closer to their grandchildren (Maggie and Sophie).  While retired, Anna greatly enjoyed gardening, traveling all around the Midwest, and many trips to Tampa, Florida to visit their daughter.

Anna will best be remembered for being an incredible hard worker and an exceptionally kind and loving wife, mother, and grand-mother.

Anna is survived by her husband Al Calvo, brother Michael Gregus, son William Calvo, daughter Ann Marie Vincent and grand-daughters Maggie and Sophie Calvo.
