Anna Jane Hodges
1933-2020
On Thursday, December 3, 2020, Anna Jane (Outlaw) Hodges, 87, went to be with her Lord and Savior. Anna Jane was a loving mother of two daughters, Cindy Rice of Edmond, Okla., and Teri (Daryl) McCarthy of Lenexa, Kan. She was grandmother to Justin (Kara) Rice and Anna Jane Rice, all of Edmond. She was the step-grandmother of Lance (Jamie) McCarthy and Lana (Kevin) Eklund. She had two great grandchildren and five step-great-grandchildren. Jane died at Integris Medical Center in Edmond.
Anna Jane was born January 3, 1933, in Denison, Tex. She was the only child of Earl and Viola (Hestand) Outlaw. She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband of 59 years, Troy I. Hodges, their daughters Karen Denise Hodges and Baby Hodges and her much-loved son-in-law Michael T. Rice. Troy and Jane were married in Carlsbad, N.M., on November 20, 1951.
Jane was a vibrant personality who loved to laugh. She was always the life of the party. She loved God with all of her heart and enjoyed serving her church, Spring Creek Assembly, as its receptionist for over five years. She loved people and they loved her. For most of her married life Jane was a homemaker, but worked occasionally as a bookkeeper or in sales. Due to Troy's work, the couple made their home in several states including Wash., Ga., Tex., Kan., and Okla. She was an avid Scrabble player and gardener. Jane had a favorite saying, and it really guided her life, "God doesn't make mistakes!" Her faith sustained her through life and it certainly sustained her in death. She's safe in the arms of Jesus.
The family would like to thank Tealridge Assisted Living Center and Integris Hospital, both in Edmond, for their excellent compassionate care.
