Anthony Steven Scorsone
August 5, 1935 – February 18, 2022
Anthony Steven Scorsone known as Tony, Dad, and Papa was born August 5, 1935. He went to be with his Heavenly Father on February 18, 2022. Tony was born in Palermo, Sicily and moved to New York at the age of 11. He met his wife Barbara in 1962 and were married a year later. After having 3 sons, Hertz Corporation transferred him and his family to Edmond, Oklahoma where their last 2 children were born. Tony helped open the Oklahoma City office and retired in 1997 after working for Hertz for 35 years. Tony's passion was his family and throughout the years he was fortunate to have 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Tony leaves behind his wife Barbara, 4 sons, 1 daughter, 14 grandkids and his 3 great grandkids. Papa, as he was called by his grandchildren, was always cheering them on at sporting events and school activities and would drop anything he was doing in order to be with them. When Tony wasn't attending one of his kids or grandkids events, he could be found working around his house where he lived for 52 years. Visitation will be held at Matthews Funeral Home on Monday, February 21, 2022, from 1:00 until 8:00 p.m. Services will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at 2:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 900 S. Littler Ave, Edmond, OK 73034. Graveside Services will be Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at Gracelawn Cemetery, 1407 N. Boulevard, Edmond, OK 73034.
