Ashley Marie Parks
1984-2019
Ashley Marie Parks, born in Edmond, Oklahoma on January 26, 1984, left us on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in a tragic car accident. A talented and artistic person, Ashley graduated from Edmond North High School, attended Oklahoma City Community College and UCO and became a Graphic Designer, working for several political consulting firms as well as the Oklahoma Gazette. She did extensive freelance work through the years for a wide range of clients, including numerous political candidates, as well as corporate clients. Her work won several awards.
Ashley was the precious daughter of David and Donna Parks, beautiful twin sister and best friend to Amber Johnson, special sister-in-law to Gabe Johnson, loyal and protective big sister to Zachary Parks. She was the best "Aunt Auntie" ever to nephews Isaac Johnson and Ian Johnson and to niece Audrie Johnson, the most thoughtful granddaughter to Johanna Ethridge and Don Ethridge. She was also loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends. Ashley was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dean and Carol Parks and her longtime companion, Woofy cat.
A fiercely loyal friend, Ashley had a sweet, fun loving spirit and a kind heart. She was passionate about music, all types of music, and enjoyed traveling to concerts with those she loved, to see her favorite performers. Ashley cherished her extensive record collection and her turntable and was an avid fan of the bass guitar. Her smile radiated and her laugh was contagious. She "had an unwavering commitment to leave this world a better place through absolute generosity of spirit", as one friend put it. She truly cared about the struggles of others and trying to better those lives in whatever way she could. Ashley believed in the power of positivity and she was a beacon of light. Her soul is at peace and her heart is at rest and we will miss her in ways we cannot know, for all of the rest of our days. Ashley's memorial service will be held at Southern Hills Christian Church on Saturday, March 30th at 2:00 p.m.
