Austin Alva Griffin, 21, unexpectedly passed away in a tragic accident on June 10, 2018. Austin was born in Oklahoma City on August 1, 1996 to Ann Marie Bearden and John Michael Griffin. He graduated from Edmond Memorial High School, after which he began studying culinary arts.

Austin was a beloved coworker at his job at McDonald's as a customer care associate. At one point, he was awarded the "Brand Ambassador of the Month". Austin was an avid gamer and artist. He loved other cultures, spending time reading Manga, watching Anime, and he loved his job. His proudest moments were being accepted into the Platt College for Culinary Arts and being hired at McDonald's.

Austin was preceded in death by his brother, Dustin Buckner; his grandmother, Helen Griffin; his grandfather, Glen Bearden; & his great-grandparents May & Alva Griffin.

He is survived by his mother, Ann Bearden; his father, John Griffin; his stepmother, Cheryl Griffin; his sister, Crystal Mease (Matt); his brothers, James Griffin & Brady Buckner; his niece, Destiny Griffin; his grandfather, Robert Griffin; his grandmother, Sue Bearden; his uncles, Rob Griffin, Adam Bearden, & Allen Bearden; cousins, Zachary & Emily Griffin, Jacob, Justin, Joshua, Jonathan, & Analee Bearden; and numerous extended family, friends, and loved ones.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, June 16 at 10:00 am at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma. A private interment will be held at Frisco Cemetery in Yukon, Oklahoma at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Austin's name to Citizens United for Research in Epilepsy.
