Barbara Ann Braden, 82, passed away on April 28 th , 2014. She was born on August 5 th , 1931 to Hazel and Bart Foster in Drumright, OK.

She graduated from Classen High School in 1949. While at Classen High, she was the state badminton and couples tennis champion. After graduating from Oklahoma State University, where she majored in Chemistry, she went on to medical school at the University of Oklahoma where she graduated in 1957. She took her residency in internal medicine.

While in medical school, she met Kent Braden, and immediately after meeting him, declared to her mother he would be the man she would marry. Kent and Barbara were married at First Baptist Church in Oklahoma City in 1955. They had three children; Kim McLanahan, Mark Braden and Jenny Braden..

Barbara worked at VA hospital as a contract physician for almost 30 years. She loved cookbooks, sports, making candy, playing games and cards (especially with her children, grandchildren and her sister Bonnie), camping in Colorado, Christmas, and most of all, her entire family.

Barbara is preceded in death by her brothers Bart, Bobby, and Billy Foster.

Barbara is survived by her husband and best friend of nearly 60 years, Kent Braden; her children Kim McLanahan and her husband Jon McLanahan, Mark Braden and his wife Desirea Braden and Jenny Braden, all of Edmond, OK. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren; Cole McLanahan, Wade McLanahan, Brian McLanahan, Trent Braden, Paige McLanahan, Natalie Braden, and Annalyse Braden, all of Oklahoma City and Edmond. She is also survived by her devoted and loving sister and friend Bonnie Tigert.

The family is grateful to all of her loving family and friends to her special caretaker, Laurie Hanneman. A memorial service will be held at Matthews Funeral Home, Edmond, Oklahoma on Saturday, May 3 rd , at 2 pm.
