Barbara Ann Groninga
January 18, 1936 – April 14, 2023
Barbara went to her heavenly home on April 14 surrounded by her loved ones. Barbara was born during a snowstorm on Saturday January 18, 1936 to Elmer and Lucille Hoelscher in Carnegie, Oklahoma. She was considered the prettiest baby in Carnegie.
She grew up in Edmond, she attended Sunnyside school and later Edmond High. She married at a young age and had 3 children, Kathy, John and Steve.
Barbara will be remembered for her beautiful smile and generous heart. She made profound and positive difference in so many lives. She is and always will be deeply loved and cherished by her family and friends. A angel smiles down on us today. Preceded in death by her husband Bud, parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother. She is survived by her daughter Kathy and husband Jerry Smith, sons John and wife Kelly Hoover, and Steve Hoover and fiancé Kim. 10 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Brothers Tommy and Donny and many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, April 20th, at Matthews Funeral Home. Graveside services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21st, at Rose Hill Burial Park.
