Betty Louise Adams

1927 – 2021

Louise Adams was born in her grandparent's home in Poteau, Oklahoma in 1927 and passed away on October 24, 2021. She lived 94 years before leaving this world to join her Lord. She is preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Reba Taylor; her husband, Dick Adams; her daughter's-in-law Janine Adams and Lynne Adams; and granddaughter, Beth Nelson.

The Taylor family relocated to Seminole so Louise's father could work in the oil fields. She graduated from Seminole High School and enjoyed math and typing. After attending Seminole Junior College and Oklahoma Baptist University, Louise worked for OG&E and her mother worked for C.R. Anthony Co. It was at Anthony's that she met another employee and her future husband, Dick Adams. After a courtship of a year, they married on January 4, 1948.

The couple and ultimately four children moved throughout Oklahoma and Texas as her husband continued his career at Anthony's. In 1960, they were transferred to the General office in Oklahoma City where Dick, Louise and family established their home in Edmond, Oklahoma. The family includes three sons (Richard, Chuck, and Dwight) and one daughter (Kathy), all graduates of Edmond High School. Louise has 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Louise studied the Bible in Bible Study Fellowship and completed the seven-year curriculum. She was active in her church at Waterloo Road Baptist Church until the pandemic and health issues. PEO Chapter ES was another interest of Louise's where she was a member for 55 years and served one term as the Oklahoma State President of PEO.

She will be missed, and the family was blessed by many wonderful memories to cherish.

Visitation will be on Thursday, October 28, 2021 from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Matthews Funeral Home. The family has chosen to have private services.
