1939 – 2015

Betty Jo Ann Cordell, long-time Edmond, Okla., resident, was born on August 28, 1939, and departed this life on December 3, 2015. She was 76 years old.

Betty was the daughter of Leroy and Dollie (Muse) Stevens. She married Thomas "Tommy" A. Cordell on March 31, 1958. They loved traveling to see their "only" grandchild Elizabeth.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, parents and three brothers.

Betty is survived by daughters, Cathy Cummings and husband, Carl of Ft. Lauderdale, FL and Susie Brown and husband, Benson of Tuttle, OK. Her granddaughter Elizabeth Hambsh and husband, William of Ft. Lauderdale, FL. and two great grandchildren Victoria Belle Hambsh and Alexander Thomas Hambsh of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., sister Dorothy Fox of Choctaw, OK and brother Bobby Stevens of TX and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral services will be held Monday, December 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in the Arcadia I.O.O.F. Cemetery. A formal visitation will take place on Sunday December 6, 2015 from 5-7 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma. Arrangements are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home of Edmond.
