She was baptized when she was 12 and faithfully served. Born in Los Angeles on July 1, 1925, she lived a full life until just past her 99 th birthday. Younger years were spent in Seattle until Betty and Forrest McIntosh married on March 17, 1944, while he was on leave from the Army Air Corps. She followed him to his flight bases where Marilyn was born to the couple as he served in the Western Flying Training Command as a multi-engine pilot until his discharge at the end of World War II. They returned to Walla Walla and put down deep roots in the community and church.
Betty was employed by J.C. Penney Co., Seattle First National Bank, and in Walla Walla at Harold Electric. She retired from the Walla Walla Community College Bookstore in 1982. She served many capacities at her church including president of the Christian Women's Fellowship. Her extensive volunteer work varied from Lunch Bunch, Reading helper at Blue Ridge Elementary, Camp Fire, PTA president at Washington Grade School, Voting Poles and 32-year support to Forrest's charter membership in the 9406 th Air Force Reserve Squadron retiring Lieutenant Colonel.
The inseparable love of her life for 65 years was Forrest who passed away in 2009 after 4.5 years at Eagle Springs Memory Care. She was known for making friends everywhere she went. It was hard leaving all her dear friends in Walla Walla and moving in Oct 2017 from her family farm on Biagi Lane, but she thrived 7 years living close to her daughter's family in Edmond, OK. She quickly applied her gift of making lasting friendships and was invigorated by all the activities at Southern Hills Christian Church, thriving participant with residents and staff at Lyndale Edmond Senior Living and loving caregivers at Parc Place Rehab Center staff.
