Beverly Sue Barnes
1939 – 2023
Beverly Sue Barnes passed away June 22, 2023, at the age of 84 in Edmond, Oklahoma. Beverly was born to the late John and the late Gladys Benge of Greenville, Mississippi. Beverly is survived by sisters, Ellen Pyle and Barbara Wagner, and brother John Benge. Beverly was a beloved wife of the late Lieutenant Colonel Ronald Barnes and mother to the late Ronald Barnes II, David Barnes (Rhonda) of Orland Park, Illinois and Mike Barnes of Edmond, Oklahoma.
Beverly was an avid sports enthusiast, particularly watching and as an award-winning golfer. Beverly enjoyed fishing boating with Ron and her sons. Beverly lived in two foreign counties and traveled the United States extensively. Beverly retired from bookkeeping in 2004 and worked for several organizations and a family-owned business.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Foundation in memory of Beverly Barnes.
A Graveside service will be held Thursday, June 29, 2023, beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Chandler, Oklahoma.
