Bev Luehring

May 12, 1933 — May 5, 2026

Oklahoma City

Beverly, “Bev” Luehring, went Home to be with Jesus and the love of her life, her husband George, on May 5, 2026. Bev was born on May 12, 1933, to Harold and Eileene Hunt, in Manhattan, KS.

Bev received her schooling through the Manhattan School system, where she was very popular and active, including playing violin in the orchestra, cheerleading, and was chosen as the Blue M Queen by her peers.

During one football game, Bev caught the eye of an upperclassman, George, sitting in the bleachers, which was the beginning of a lifelong romance that would span nearly 7 decades before his death in 2023. They were married on April 1, 1953, which set them up for “April Fools” jokes the remainder of their days. However, they got the last laugh as theirs was a marriage of deep love that lasted through the highs and lows of life.

For the most part, Bev was a wife and a homemaker, though she did brief stints as an Avon lady and as a secretary at Thompson’s Book and Supply. She was an active member of Pi Beta Phi, and spent much time golfing and was a regular at Jazzercise up into her late 70s, when multiple hip surgeries brought that to a halt. Both Bev and George were also very active in their Sunday School small group.

When people think of Bev, they tend to recount her sweet, humorous, sunny disposition; always looking on the bright side of things. This continued throughout the last years of her life, despite her decline due to multiple health challenges.

Bev was preceded in death by her husband, George in 2023, and leaves behind their 4 children; Tom, Ted, Nancy, and Kenny, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Sandy, with whom she shared many memorable times throughout life.

Bev was known for giving great hugs that brought comfort and encouragement to others. Though she might not have been much of one for words, her smiles and hugs communicated volumes. It is comforting to know that Bev is now completely healed and not only with Jesus, but with her other half: George. She will be deeply missed.

Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, OK.
