Beverly Jo (Smith) Milam passed away peacefully on October 7, 2025 with family by her side. She was born on August 26, 1946 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, the second oldest of seven children born to Delbert Lee Smith, Sr. and Rosetta (Stewart) Smith.
Beverly was raised on a cattle farm in Edmond where she helped raise her younger siblings and did a lot of canning. She graduated from Edmond Memorial High School in 1964, working for a while after graduation.
In 1969 Beverly married William O’Dell Milam and together they had two children, Joseph Arthur and LeAnne Ruth. Beverly enjoyed staying at home to raise her children and help out at their schools. She was known to help sew outfits for musical programs at the schools. She was an active member of the Edmond Elks Ladies Club and enjoyed going out for weekly dinners at the Elks. She was also an active member in the VFW Auxiliary and held several positions in the organization.
Beverly also enjoyed and excelled at several different crafts. She was very creative and could remake a lot of things just by looking at them. She loved working on several different types of puzzles, playing solitaire, reading, watching her favorite TV shows, and spending time with her dogs.
Beverly is preceded in death by her father, Delbert Lee Smith, Sr., mother, Rosetta (Stewart) Smith, and brothers Mark Sheldon Smith and Troy D. Smith.
Beverly is survived by her son, Joseph (Joe) Arthur Milam and daughter LeAnne Ruth Milam of Edmond, Oklahoma; brothers Delbert Lee Smith, Jr. of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Raymond Wayne Smith (wife Tommie Jo) of Edmond, Oklahoma; sisters Rozella Ann Powell and Ardina May Anderson of Edmond, Oklahoma; and sister-in-law Sue Smith. Beverly also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Public visitation will be held Friday, October 10, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, OK 73003.
Services will be held Saturday, October 11, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, 601 S. Kelly Ave., Edmond, OK 73003. Interment is to follow the service at 10:30 a.m. at Rose Hill Burial Park, 6001 NW Grand Blvd, Oklahoma City, OK 73118.
