Billie I. Lesher
1929-2016
Billie I. Lesher entered this life on Feb. 26, 1929. She entered her new eternal home on Dec. 29 th , 2016. Billie married Melvin Lesher, her one true love November 1949. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, and her parents Anita and Clarence Cockrum and many in-laws on both sides. Billie is survived by son Randy and his wife Barbara of Oklahoma City an d son Scott and his wife Michele of Oklahoma City. Joy always filled Granny's face when she talked about her grandkids and great grandkids: Matt and Kasie Lesher, Cade, Addie, and Jagger of Castle Pine, Colorado ; Tim and April Lesher, Andrew , Jerome and DJ of Mesa, Arizona ; Beth and Matt Streeter, Macey, Blake and Jace y of Stillwater ; and David and Emelie Lesher, and Liam of Guthrie . She remained close to her sisters, Betty Ripley, of Perry and OKC, and Carolyn Sue Marcum, of Stillwater. She is survived by numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Billie and Melvin raised their boys in Shawnee where they were active in church, school, activities and especially sports while she worked for SW Bell/ATT. They moved to Edmond and continued keeping up with their boys and all their friends, and all the sports. Billie continued to support the sports of all her kids and grandkids. Billie's life was filled with the love of God. Jesus is her strength. She enjoyed life with all her family and friends, her "lady friends" social group and Sunday School Class from Henderson Hills Baptist Church were all a special part of her life. She had established many new friends at Teal Ridge assisted living in Edmond. She loved all the people she met and she never met a stranger.
A special celebration service is planned for Saturday, January 7 th , at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond at 10:00 a.m .
