Billy Wayne Mansfield
He was born to Jack and Audra Mansfield in a log cabin south of Paden, OK during a winter snowstorm on January 4, 1940. The family tried to farm for a few years, but the South Canadian river flooded their property. When Billy was two years old they joined other family members in the migrant workers camp near Bakersfield, CA. eventually ending up near Fresno, CA. They returned to Oklahoma when Billy was eight years old. His formative years were spent in Nicoma Park, OK graduating from high school in Choctaw, OK. He was employed at Macklanburg-Duncan in Oklahoma City building products for over 40 years.
During the Vietnam War, Billy was stationed in Germany for two years.
Billy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joy; one son, Chris; three daughters, Sheila, Dolly and Tina; one step-son Bruce Whitfield and two step-daughters, Sharon Christie and Barbara Reed; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Wayne.
He was a simple man who enjoyed church and family activities.
Grave side services will be held on Tuesday at 10:00am at Arlington Memory Gardens. NE 36 th and Midwest Blvd.
