Bonnie Sue Helm, 83, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away July 5, 2024. She was born April 2, 1941, in Fallis, Oklahoma to Nieta Sharp-Butler and Charlie Sharp. Her father passed away at a young age. She also knew Louis Butler as her father after Nieta remarried. She graduated from Wellston High School in 1959.
She married to her high school sweetheart Roy Helm on June 3, 1961, in Wellston, Oklahoma. They had two children together, Alan Helm and Darren Helm. They were married for 36 years before Roy passed away.
Bonnie's life revolved around her family. Whether it was following her kids playing football and baseball, then following her grandchildren in soccer and lacrosse. Bonnie also had many good friends that played cards frequently with many cookouts and dinners.
Bonnie's work career included working in banking, the FDIC, and for many years at Shelton School in Dallas, Texas.
She is preceded in death by her parents and Dad Louis Butler, siblings Valeta Hendricks, Harold Sharp, Jane Butler, Billy Lee Sharp, Judy Lee, and Lorena Hays. She is survived by her children Alan and Jennifer Helm of Frisco, Texas, Darren and Amy Helm of Edmond, Oklahoma. Grand children Beth and Chad Varnell of Carrollton, Texas, Brett and Kira Helm of McKinney, Texas, Tyler Helm of Edmond, Oklahoma and Jessica Helm of Edmond, Oklahoma, and great grandchild Liam Helm of McKinney, Texas. Siblings Louis and Linda Butler of Wylie, Texas, sister in law Evelyn Helm of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Peace Lutheran Church at 10:00 AM July 11, 2024, with graveside services at Gracelawn Cemetery to follow. Services are under the direction Mathews Funeral Home in Edmond.
