Carl Glenn Hurst

November 30, 1967 — November 30, 2022

Carl Glenn Hurst age 55 of Oklahoma City, passed away on November 27, 2023, at his home.  Carl was born in 1968 in Oklahoma City.  He was raised by his mom Shulah Joyce Wilson and dad Aubrey Richard Collins.  He was blessed to have his loving sister Porchia Silas and her family by his side.

Carl was a Graphic Designer for many years for Jasco , OKC.  He hosted and taught classes on Life Figure drawings at Geatches Art Studio.  He was a Professional Photographer, Body Painter a member of the Oklahoma Sculpture Society as well as a Board Game Geek (we believe he owned over 300 board games).

At an early age Carl developed a passion for art and playing games of many sorts.  He graduated from Douglass Highschool in 1986 and was one of the first member of our family to attend and graduate from college.  He graduated from OSU Institute of Technology and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts from Oklahoma City University.

Carl found no greater pleasure than spending time with his family, friends, and co-workers.  He enjoyed his Art Community and enjoyed exploring various forms of medium to create art.  I was told that he touched so many lives and his presence will forever be missed.  My brother was an amazing professional photographer.  It was difficult to find photos of him because he was always behind the camera.  Carl spoke often of his Game HQ family.  Thank you for bringing joy to his life. To his Jasco family you have been a part of his life for many years, and we are grateful for your love, compassion, support, and prayers.  You will forever be a part of our family.

Carl devoted a majority of his time to the Geatches Art Studio, hosting classes on life figure drawing.  He was an avid body painter and a member of the Oklahoma Sculpture Society.  If you know Carl, then you know that he was a spirited debater.  He would debate you to the end of the earth to prove his point.  I will forever miss that about my brother.

Carl was preceded in death by his mother Shulah Wilson and father Aubrey Collins.  He is survived by his sister, Porchia Silas (DeShawn Silas); niece, Cierra Vickerman (Kevin Vickerman); nephew, Kevin Collins; nephew, Aubrey Silas, nephew, Jacob Silas and a host of great nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

We will forever hold you in our heart "Uncle" Carl as you have blessed us with wonderful memories and heartfelt joy.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, December 8, 2023, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Memory Gardens, 12813 NE 50 th Street, Spencer, OK.
