Carlton Edward "Eddie" Lee, age 59, of Edmond, Oklahoma passed away on April 14, 2013 in Oklahoma City.
Eddie was born in Louisiana, Missouri on March 10, 1954 to Billy McIver and Wanda Catherine Lee. He graduated from Mooreland High school in 1972 and also from Central State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. Eddie worked for the State of Oklahoma for 40 years, most recently as the director of purchasing and contracts for the Department of Rehabilitation Services, holding many positions in various professional organizations.
Eddie and his wife of 32 years, Sharri Elizabeth, met in 1980 while they were both employed at the Department of Human Services. In addition to being very active in Boy Scouts, coaching, church youth organizations and various other activities with all four of their children, Eddie was an avid OU fan, camper, hunter and snow skier, spending much of his time outdoors with his family. While being a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church in Edmond, Eddie served on several committees and held several leadership positions.
Eddie is survived by his wife, Sharri; his children, Daniel, Justin and Maria, Marianne, Kristen and Paul Phillips; granddaughter Bryleigh Elizabeth Phillips; sister Billie Catherine and Mike Chandler of Plano, TX and brother Jimmy Lee of Norman; aunt Nadine Nickum of Stewartville, MN; in addition to many cousins, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Eddie is preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Wanda, as well as his paternal and maternal grandparents.
Services for Eddie will be held at First United Methodist Church in Edmond, OK on Thursday April 18
th
2013 at 2:00 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Everlasting Life Garden of Chapel Hill cemetery in Oklahoma City.
Arrangements will be provided by Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond.
