Carol Guenther
1929-2015
The family of Carol Howell Guenther celebrates the life of their mother and grandmother, who died Sunday after a brief illness in Bartlett, Tennessee. Carol Ann was born February 20, 1929, in Oklahoma City and was raised in the nearby town of Edmond, Oklahoma. She took a B.A. from the University of Oklahoma in 1952. After marriage, she moved to Memphis where she raised her family of five children. In her life in Memphis, she was an active member of Raleigh Presbyterian Church, P.E.O., Community Bible Study, and MIFA's Meals-on-Wheels program. She was an avid bridge player and enthusiastic fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Carol Ann is celebrated by Charles Albert Guenther, Jr., and his wife Dianne of Columbia Falls, Montana; Cary Howell Guenther and his wife Gayla of Edmonds, Washington; Lee Alan Guenther of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas; Carolyn Guenther Carlile of Memphis; and Robert Stewart Guenther of Chicago. She is also celebrated by seven grandchildren: Dylan, Chelsea, Mabry, Christopher, Grace, Andrew and Garrett.
The family invites you to join the celebration at a visitation at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Memphis, TN on Thursday, October 15, from 5-7 p.m. The celebration will continue with a service at 2:30PM on Friday, October 16, also at Memorial Park Funeral Home, Memphis, TN. Carol Ann will be interred Monday, October 19, at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma.
