Carol Mae Winklepleck
November, 14 1943 – August, 15 2021
Carol Mae Winklepleck joined our Lord in Heaven on Sunday, August 15 th , 2021, at the Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Carol was born November 14, 1943, in Quinter, Kansas to Homer and Rachel Courtney. She is survived by her Husband Don Winklepleck of Edmond, Oklahoma, her two sons Brett Winklepleck and his wife Amy of New Braunfels, Texas and Dale Winklepleck and wife Heather of Stockton, Kansas. In addition, Carol is survived by her sister Virginia and brother-in-law Guy Wayne Johnston of Dighton, Kansas and brother Ed and sister-in-law Charlotte of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Carol is also survived by her five grandchildren: Braden Winklepleck of Dallas, Texas, Alexis and her husband Grant Hilliard of Shawnee, Kansas, Regan and Rylie Winklepleck of New Braunfels, Texas and Logan Winklepleck of Stockton, Kansas. Carol is also survived by many other close family members including nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews whom she loved and adored.
Carol attended country school in rural Gove County and graduated from Quinter High School in 1961 at the age of 17. She then attended Fort Hays State University until she was married in 1963. Carol then moved to Lawrence. KS to support her new husband while he finished college at Kansas University. While living in Lawrence, Carol worked as a secretary at the William Allen White School of Journalism. After Don graduated from college, they moved back to Hays, KS and Carol went on to receive her teaching degree from Fort Hays State University in 1966. Carol had a short teaching career before becoming a full time stay at home mom.
Carol loved her family immensely and surrounded herself with family pictures. Furthermore, she loved everything from Hallmark and had a prodigious Precious Moments Collection.
She was a dedicated mother first and foremost and treasured her grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 28 th at Memorial Road Church of Christ, 2221 E Memorial Road, Edmond, Oklahoma.
