Carole Sue Cole
1946-2017
Carole Sue Cole passed away peacefully on May 18, 2017. Carole was born January 5, 1946 at Wesley Hospital in Oklahoma City to Gerald Kenneth Barnett and Betty Ray Barnett.
Carole graduated from Midwest City High School in 1964. In June of 1964, Carole married the love of her life, Dennis Reed Cole, and resided in Midwest City. She was a member of the Midwest City Flower Club and the Junior Service League. She was also an accomplished seamstress and cook. She loved playing Bridge with her Bridge group of 40 years.
Carole's most important role was that of a devoted wife and mother. Carole was preceded in death by her mother, father, and step-father, Monte William Thompson.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis, of 53 years; children; David Cole of Dallas, TX; Susan Shumate of Edmond; Beth Ann Ridley and husband Andy of Okc; and Michael Cole of Okc. Sister; B. Ann Cole of Edmond; and brother Monte William Thompson of California. Carole is also survived by six grandchildren; Cooper and Carson Cole, Ellie and Ava Shumate, and Ruby and Betty Ridley.
Memorial service will be Monday, May 22 at 11:00 a.m. at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel, 601 S. Kelly, Edmond, OK, with reception to follow.
