Carole Lynn Holmberg
1954-2024
Carole Lynne Holmberg, 70, of Edmond, OK passed away on July 6, 2024. She was born in Houston, Texas, the daughter of Jean M Holmberg and Mary Kay (Kokenge) Holmberg. As a young girl she moved with her family to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where she fell in love with horses. She became a member of the Sooner Saddler Riding Club, competing in Western Pleasure and Drill teams that competed annually at the Pawhuska Calvalcade and participated numerous parades. This was one of the loves of her life. In 1967 the family moved to Oklahoma City where she graduated from Putnam City High School and attended the University of Central Oklahoma. She took classes in Archeology and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management.
After college Carole worked for many years as a draftsman for Cities Service Oil and Hunt Oil companies. In her spare time she loved hunting for arrowheads, artifacts and was an avid rockhound.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Pat Strang, brother-in -laws Jery Strang and John Becker. She is survived by two brothers, Jim (Betty) Grollmes and Bill (Angie) Holmberg, two sisters, Mickie (Danny) Silver, Judy Becker and several nieces and nephews.
We would like to express our sincere thanks to Teresa Hernandez, Tracy and the staff of Shiloh Manor an assisted living facility that cared for Carole for the last 15 or so years.
Cremation and Burial will be at Gracelawn Cemetery in Edmond, Oklahoma under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home.
