Carolyn Burton Evans Lowe

1935-2024

Carolyn Burton Evans Lowe, a fun-loving woman, a wonderful mother, a grandmother, and great grandmother stepped into eternity on November 30, 2024.

Carolyn was born on December 3, 1935, in Oklahoma City to Perry and Lucia Burton. Carolyn grew up in Oklahoma City and was a proud graduate of Classen High School where she cultivated many lifelong friendships. She went on to attend the University of Oklahoma where she met her husband, Jim Evans.

Family was Carolyn's greatest treasure. Together with Jim, she lovingly raised 3 children: Cindy, Steve, and Mark. Carolyn enjoyed being a mother and a homemaker and later a very active grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, Jon, Lindy, Steven, Will, Kari, Ethan, Olivia, Elizabeth, Luke, and Savannah, and her 12 great-grandchildren, who brought her immense happiness and fulfillment. Her legacy of love and devotion will live on through each of them.

Beyond her family time, she was always involved in her church and loved to sing in the choir. Carolyn loved celebrating birthdays and Christmas. She loved giving gifts, but mostly loved spending time with those she loved.

Carolyn was also an avid gardener. She had an unmatched gift for bringing beauty into the world, transforming even the smallest patch of earth into a vibrant oasis of blooms and greenery.

Carolyn will also be remembered for her passion for bridge, a game she loved both for its strategy and the friendships it fostered.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Jim Evans. She later found love again when she met Jerry Lowe. They married in December 2018.

Carolyn is survived by her husband Jerry, her children, Larry and Cindy Conant, Steve Evans, Mark, and Stacie Evans; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her beloved dog, Ellie, and many dear friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Lucia Burton, and brothers, Perry Burton, and Chap Burton.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held Saturday, December 21 at 1:30 pm at St Mary's Episcopal Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to St Mary's Episcopal Church reflecting Carolyn's lifelong dedication to the church's missional work.

Carolyn's legacy of love, compassion and cherished relationships will forever live on in the hearts of her family and friends. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
