Surrounded by her loving family, Carolyn Edith Jones went to be with the lord on March 17, 2022.

She was born in Oklahoma City on September 2, 1942, to Edward and Julia Yon.  She attended Capitol Hill HS.  She married Howard Clifford Jones and they recently celebrated their 63 rd wedding anniversary.  After getting married, they lived in Tulsa, OK for 15 years before moving to Edmond, OK in 1974.  They joined and are long time members of Henderson Hills Baptist Church.

After moving to Edmond, Carolyn went back to school and earned her RN Nurses degree and became an OB/Gyn nurse working newborns after delivery.  She worked in this capacity for many years before retiring from what is now OU Medical Center in Edmond.

Carolyn loved to bowl, going to many women's tournaments all over the country.  She loved to sew, making many quilts for others.  She also loved gardening, golfing with nurse friend, and as much as anything, loved baby sitting and enjoying her grand and great grandkids.

She is preceded in death by her mother and father and siblings Joanne Elmore, Paul, Clair, and Charles Yon.  She is survived by husband Howard, son Gary Jones and wife Renee, daughter Sherrill Strang and husband Greg, grand children Kathryn Menefee, Jessica Ledford, Tanner Jones, and Shelby Jones, great grandchildren Jay and Vivian Land and Trip Ledford and her brother Phillip Yon.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Henderson Hills Baptist Church in Edmond, Oklahoma.
