Carolyn Jean Woolems
Carolyn Jean Woolems, born November 4, 1942, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, to Mitchell and Dora Bailey, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026.
Carolyn was the oldest of five children and spent her life devoted to caring for others. She was a nurse for more than 40 years, a profession that reflected her naturally compassionate and giving spirit. She touched countless lives through her work and was always willing to help those in need.
Carolyn was fiercely independent, strong-willed, and determined, while also being deeply loving and devoted to her family and friends. She cherished the people she loved and treasured the time spent making memories with them. She had a love for travel and embraced new experiences and opportunities to see and learn more about the world around her.
A woman of strong faith, Carolyn was a devoted Christian whose faith was an important part of her life. Her kindness, strength, independence, and caring heart will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Mitchell and Dora Bailey, and her brother Mick Bailey.
She leaves behind her children, Mark Lentz and his wife Jeannie, Carole Devault and her husband Larry, and Laura McClure and her husband Allen; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Donna Ransdell and Edith McGaughey, and her brother Ron Bailey, along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.
Carolyn’s life was one of service, faith, love, and devotion to others. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Matthew’s Funeral Home, Edmond, Oklahoma.
A service will be held at 2:00 p.m., August 20, 2026, at Matthew’s Funeral Home Chapel, Edmond, Oklahoma.
