1970-2024
Christopher Alan Ward (July 9th, 1970 – April 10th, 2024)
"Chris was family" is something that has been repeated by many since his passing. He loved to make his rounds visiting or calling his loved ones and always lent a helping hand where he could.
Christopher Alan Ward, 53 years old, of Guthrie, Oklahoma, passed away on April 10th, 2024.
He was born in Guthrie on July 9th, 1970 to Carrie Burrow and Alan Ward. He attended Harrah Schools and graduated from Prague High School before entering into oil field construction and later contract work for the FAA. His work took him all over the country and eventually to places like Guam and Puerto Rico. He enjoyed the travel but enjoyed being home more–working on his tree house and spending time outdoors.
Everyone who knew Chris knew that he loved to be outside whether it was skiing, hunting, fishing, or helping out friends with projects. He liked to watch sunrises and sunsets and took photos of them whenever he could. Chris was in the process of building his dream getaway–a treehouse with a view of the pond he'd fish and swim in. He was looking forward to retiring and spending his time there in his favorite place.
Chris will always be remembered for his humor and generosity and the way that he took care of those he loved. He would drop everything to help friends or family and they would do the same for him. We'll always imagine hearing him say his catchphrase "Daaaaaaaang!" one more time. We couldn't have asked for a better son, dad, brother, or friend, and will miss Chris every day. His memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Chris was preceded in death by his mother Carrie Burrow Patterson and grandmother Bessie Burrow Brown. He is lovingly remembered by his daughter Bradyn Sidwell and son-in-law Jake Sidwell, his father Alan Ward and step-mother Deleta Ward, and his brothers Donovan Ward and Jason Thomas. Chris also leaves behind his nieces and nephews, dearest friends, and found family.
Funeral services will be held April 20th, 2024, 10:30 a.m., at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S Kelly Ave, with burial service afterward at Memorial Park Cemetery, 13400 N Kelley Ave.
