1922-2013

Claude J. Scoggins, Jr., 90 of Edmond, OK., was born February 25, 1922 in Lindsay, Oklahoma to Claude J. and Madeline Scoggins. Claude was a Petroleum Engineer by profession and a member of the 101 st Airborne Association. He served in the United States Marine Corp, as well as the Canadian Army's Essex Scottish Regiment and the Perth Regiment prior to the United States entry into WWII. He then joined the 101 st Airborn division as a member of C Company, 506 th Parachute Infantry Regiment in England. He participated in the invasion of Normandy, the invasion of Holland and the "Battle of the Bulge". He was awarded three purple Hearts and two Bronze Stars. After the war he attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Claude loved his family and will be missed by many. He is survived by his Son and Daughter in law, Jeff and Linda Scoggins of Edmond, OK., His daughter Stephanie Scoggins, grandson and granddaughter in law, Phillip and Andrea Scoggins, grandson Steven Scoggins, great granddaughter, Hayden Scoggins, great grandson, Ryder Scoggins, and many loving nieces and nephews. Claude is preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Nancy Sue Scoggins, parents, Claude J. Scoggins Sr., and mother Madeline Scoggins.

Graveside services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Memorial Park Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers the family wishes donations to: The Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675 (877-958-2233.

Services are under the Direction of Matthews Funeral Home and Cremation Service.
