Growing up Clayton played Baseball, Soccer, Basketball and Football. He was an avid skateboarder. He learned to play the guitar and drums and loved to try to teach his younger cousins to play. Clayton was very artistic. He loved to draw and write stories or lyrics from a very young age. His dream was to become a rapper.
Clayton lived in Edmond his entire life and attended Edmond Memorial High School and the University of Central Oklahoma where he very proudly and excitedly learned to speak Mandarin.
Clayton had various jobs over the past few years but the one he was most proud of was being a stay at home Dad for the first six months of his son Leo's life. He loved Leo and his mother, Angellica,
with all his heart.
Clayton brought so much love, joy, and laughter into his family's life, whether it was by giving his mile wide smile, a hug, a kiss, or spinning a crazy tale that only his imagination could come up with. Clayton always made sure that when he saw you that you knew he loved you.
Clayton is survived by his Parents, Heather Russell and Brent Russell, Step-Mother: Melissa Russell, Step-Father: Doug Thompson, Son: Leo Oliver Russell, Fiancé: Angellica Rae Emery, Brother: Wesley Austin Russell, Step-Sister: Cierra Smith, Papoo and Mamoo: Greg and Debbie Dever, Pappy and Janny: Wes and Jan Russell, Grandpa: David Stiles, Great Grandpa: Tom Rogers. He is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, Kristy and Darren Hall, Ryan and Kelly Russell, Kori and Dustin Lewis, Kimberly and Max McCoy, Michael Dever, Jon David Stiles and Diana Williams, along with numerous Great Aunts, Great Uncles and Cousins who loved him dearly.
Clayton was preceded in death by his Great Grandmother, Norma Rogers, Great Grandparents, Claburn and Juanita Stiles, Leroy and Maxine Bunch and Oliver and Patty Russell.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
