Collin Anthony Farrell, 34, of Oklahoma City departed this world on February 21, 2026, to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Collin was born on August 2, 1991, to his parents, Roger and Cynthia Farrell. Collin spent his youth in Edmond, Oklahoma, with his older brother, Cameron, and twin sister, Carrie. Collin, Carrie, and Cameron were inseparable and, frequently, mischievous. It was nearly impossible to keep up with them in the outdoors as they seemingly went different directions, a trait that lasted the entirety of their lives.
Collin’s early years were spent exploring the outdoors, whether it be fishing with his grandmother, hunting with his grandpa, or exploring the woods with his siblings, family, and many friends. As Collin grew older, he began to hone his fishing and hunting skills around Lake Arcadia and in the Flint Hills of Kansas.
He attended St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Grade School and graduated from Bishop McGuinness Catholic High School. After graduation, he attended Durango and Rocky Mountain Colleges in Colorado before returning to Oklahoma. He held various jobs in the Oklahoma City area before pursuing his aircraft maintenance license in a local technical school.
Collin was the consummate outdoorsman. He loved to fish and hunt with his family and friends throughout Oklahoma and the surrounding states. But his passion for the outdoors was most clearly evident when he spent time at the family farm. Collin worked with his dad, brother, and sister to create miles of hiking trails, food plots, and open spaces in pursuit of deer, turkey, pigs, and any other native game. Several of Collin’s deer mounts adorn the walls of the house at the farm.
Although hunting was a passion, he was also a master at foraging morel mushrooms, a rare skill passed down from his grandfather. His deepest passion, however, was fishing. Collin chased most anything that swam, including crappie, bass, catfish, yellow perch (ice fishing), trout, spoonbill, and sharks. From noodling to balloon fishing, Collin tried and succeeded at any interesting fishing endeavor.
Collin was a very compassionate and empathetic soul. He didn’t judge people by their status in life. Rather, he befriended anyone that was kind or simply needed a friend. His family has been humbled at the myriad of friends and acquaintances that Collin acquired throughout his life. Collin loved the times and adventures he shared with Katherine, his special soulmate and friend, and her family over the last three years.
Collin was preceded in death by his grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Cindy, father, Roger, stepmother, Trish, twin sister, Carrie, older brother, Cameron, stepsisters Kurstin and Lily (Bryce), two young nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and fishing buddies.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK, on Monday, March 9, from 5-7 pm. Mass will be held on Tuesday, March 10, at 10 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Edmond, OK.
