Connie D. Burdick

June 21, 1954 – September 28, 2023

Connie was born in Chandler, Arizona at the Air Force base hospital. She grew up as a military brat, moving from base to base always having to make new friends with each move. She finished school in Oklahoma City and graduated from John Marshall High.

Connie was introduced to Jimmy Burdick Jr. in 1974, by Jimmy's sister Martha, on a blind date. They were married on May 30, 1975 and have been married 48 years. They had two children, David Michael and Meredith Suzanne. Connie and Jimmy have lived their entire married lives in the Edmond- Deer Creek area.

Connie was preceded in death by her two children David Michael Burdick and Meredith Suzanne Burdick. Connie was also preceded in death by both of her parents, Wayne Scantlin from Kerrville Texas and her Mom Rosa Scott of Edmond. Connie took care of her mother for 14 years, she lived in Jim and Connie's home.

Connie is survived by her brother, Gary Scantlin of Edmond and Michelle Scantlin of Oklahoma City. Connie is also survived by her Grandchildren, Hayley Huff and Kylie Graham of Guthrie. Also, she is survived by two Grandsons, Mason Burdick of Portland Oregon, and Graham Propps of Edmond.

Connie and Jimmy, along with Jim Sr. and Willie owned and operated Edmond Flower Shop for 30 years. Connie was a very talented business woman and she was Jimmy's design partner and office/shop manager. Connie was very talented in her own right, she had a good eye and had the right touch when it came to decorating and design. While in the flower business Connie was active in Florist rights and lobbied to get a fair marketing bill passed in the state legislature. Both Connie and Jim were active in the Oklahoma Florist Association, hosting several events.

After selling the Flower Shop, Connie was office manager for her Son David's body shop Advanced Collision Repair in Edmond for over 10 years.

Connie was an avid gardener, keeping Jim busy building and maintaining the numerous gardens at their home. She always enjoyed decorating the home for the holidays and made it special for her family.

Connie passed much too soon for all of us. Maybe God needs a little help in heaven. Connie was truly loved by those who knew her and her welcoming heart. She will be forever missed.

Services will be held on Thursday October 12, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Edmond First Church of the Nazarene. (3001 S. Blvd., Edmond, OK)
