Curtis "Craig" Cole

Curtis Craig Cole, known to family and friends as Craig, passed away on July 23, 2026, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 82. He was born on February 25, 1944, in Oakland, California, to Cloyse Charles Cole and Louise Miller Cole.

On June 3, 1965, Craig married Ruby Margaret Askins. Throughout more than sixty-one years of marriage, he remained devoted to Ruby and worked throughout his life to provide her with love, stability, and every comfort.

Craig devoted much of his life to his career, his faith, and the responsibilities he carried. He found purpose in his work as an attorney, providing for his family and craft-related hobbies.

Craig dedicated more than five decades to the practice of law in Oklahoma. After earning his Juris Doctor degree from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 1972, he founded C. Craig Cole & Associates, where he built a respected legal career serving clients throughout the state.

A man of enduring faith, Craig faithfully attended First Presbyterian, St. Stephens Presbyterian, and Santa Fe Presbyterian Church in Edmond, Oklahoma. His Christian faith remained an important part of his life.

Outside of the law and church, Craig found great satisfaction in working with his hands. He enjoyed woodworking, blacksmithing, collecting and crafting pipes, fly fishing, and spending time in his barn creating projects. His family treasures the many handcrafted pieces he built over the years, especially the gifts he lovingly made and shared at Christmas. He also enjoyed caring for his beloved pets as well as befriending the neighborhood wildlife.

One of Craig's favorite places was Rockport, Massachusetts, where he and his family vacationed often. He appreciated its coastal beauty, peaceful atmosphere, quaint shops, fresh seafood and fishing in the surf. The memories made there remained special throughout his life.

He is survived by his wife, Ruby Margaret Cole; his daughter, Corey Christine Kuhn and her husband, Dr. John Kuhn; his son, Conner C. Cole and his wife, Mary Ellen Cole; his grandchildren, Ethan Kuhn, Logan Kuhn, Elouise Cole, and Xavier Cole; and his sister, Cheri Massey. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloyse Charles Cole and Louise Miller.

Craig will be remembered for dedication to his profession, his love of family, his craftsmanship hobbies leaving countless treasures behind to stimulate fond memories, and the diverse interests that brought him and others joy throughout his life.

A funeral service celebrating Craig's life will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Santa Fe Presbyterian Church, 1603 N Santa Fe Ave, Edmond, OK 73003. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by a closed-casket service at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to ASPCA or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
