Dale Keith Cabbiness

Dr. Dale K. Cabbiness was born May 22, 1937 on a farm near Binger. Oklahoma and went to be with The Lord Jesus Christ this 6th day of September in the 2017 year of our Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Loretta F. Hileman of Lookeba, Oklahoma, Children: Durinda Snider and LaDawna Haugen of Edmond, Oklahoma .Opal Crowder of Chic, California. 4 Grandtchildren: Tanner S.Feil of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Katelin N. Feil of Haslet, Texas, Joshua T. Snider of Edmond, Ok, and Ryan M. Wells and wife Erin Wells of Yukon, Oklahoma. 3 Great Grandchildren: Carson Tucker, Kensingotn Nicole and Lincoln Owen Wells. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as numerous friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Grace Farr Cabbiness, brother Lester Leon Cabbiness, and sister, Jean Braswell. Brother in laws: Herman E. Braswell, Odis W Crowder and John T. Bertva, Nephew Wayne Crowder, Niece Karen Gardner and Father and Mother-in-Law Luther and Hazel Hileman of Lookeba, Oklahoma.
He received his Doctorate of Analytical Chemistry at Purdue University in 1969, Master Degree at University of Arkansas, Bachelor's Degree at Southwestern Oklahoma State University and diploma from Binger High School. He worked as a research scientist and manager for Dow Chemical Co., DuPont Co., Conoco [Continental Oil Company] and President of his consulting Company: Caddo Consulting LLC for a total of 40 years. Work as a Consultant took him to China, Venezuela, and Texas. He authored numerous scientific papers and patents.
Technical work included: Oil exploration and refining, manufacturing of the new Freon, rocket propellants, explosives, pesticides, fertilizers, specialty chemicals, mining or uranium and coal, and environmental and conservation technologies.
He was a long time member and Deacon of both First Baptist Church Ponca City and Edmond Oklahoma. He was first ordained at Calvary Baptist Church, Lafayette, Indiana.
He joined the Army Reserve in 1954 at the age of 17. He was activated for a brief time and discharged in 1962.
His hobbies included watercolor and oil painting, hunting, and target practice. He was president of the Ponca City Art Association for 3 terms. He tutored and mentored many children of the American Legion Children's Home. He also was a member of Alpha Chi Sigma and American Legion.
Services will be held at 10:00 on Monday, September 11, 2017 at the Edmond First Baptist Church with interment at Eakly Cemetery, Eakly, OK at 3:00 p.m. Formal Visitation will be held Saturday from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home.
