Dan passed away Thursday afternoon, August 4, at the age of 68. Dan was born October 30,1953 to David and Elsie Martinez in Marfa, Texas, being the middle child of 5. He attended all twelve years of school in Marfa and cultivated lifelong friendships.
He went on to attend the University of Texas El Paso and Sul Ross State University graduating with a degree in Geology. He worked in the Oil and Gas Industry for EXXON, ARCO and Vastar Petroleum companies as a Senior Exploration Scout in twenty-five states. He later was a regional manager in the Insurance industry and completing his career in various outside sales positions.
Dan loved to golf, fish, and hunt. He was an exceptional cook, too. These were pale in comparison to his friends and family, that he loved passionately. He collected Native American and Southwest art and related memorabilia.
He is survived by his wife, Sue and bonus daughter, Carrie and husband, Keith Stallbories and, granddaughter Haley. Also, 1 son, 1 sister, and 3 brothers. Cherished rescues Charles, Betsy, Adele, and Brownie.
