Darrell Wayne Beecham was born on January 4, 1942, in Geary Oklahoma to Vernon and Freda Beecham. He passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024, at Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City.
Darrell attended and graduated from Edmond High School in 1960 going on to attend college at Central State in Edmond and graduating with a Business Degree and minors in Math and History in 1965. Darrell was in food sales working for Del Monte and Kraft foods for 36 years, retiring in 2002. His career took him from Oklahoma to Texas and a long-extended period in Albuquerque New Mexico where he and wife Doris raised their son Kevin.
After retirement he and wife Doris moved back to Edmond Oklahoma. Darrell was heavily involved in Little League baseball while Kevin was playing. He was an umpire and board member for many years and even the President of Roadrunner little league for a couple of years. Darrell was a huge fan of OU sports with great passion for football and Women's Softball. Darrell loved to read old western books and watch old western movies over and over and over!!!!!!!
Darrell is survived by his wife of 61 years Doris, one Son Kevin and wife Tracey of Chandler, AZ., two grandsons, Tyler Beecham of Portland, OR., and Chad Beecham and wife Nicole as well as 3 great grandchildren Aiden, Eleanor and William of Maricopa, AZ., and one granddaughter Jordyn Beecham of Gilbert, AZ., brother Fred Beecham and wife Teresa of Midwest City, OK., niece Christy, nephew Brandon, and sister Pat Wilburn of Midwest City OK., and 2 nephews Brady and Bart.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Waterloo Nazarene Church in memory of Darrell Beecham.
Public visitation will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK.
Services will be held Wednesday, September 11, 2024, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Waterloo Church of the Nazarene, 457 W Waterloo Rd, Edmond, OK 73025.
