David Samuel Aldridge Jr. came into the world on March 20, 1962, in the old downtown Edmond, OK hospital to David and Margie Aldridge.

David lived in Edmond all his life. Going to Edmond Memorial High School. Playing football Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years and went to Central State University for a year.

He went from being a plumber, to a security guard, to rental store mechanic before getting a job as a forklift mechanic at Sam’s Wholesale Club where he worked for 15 years, then moved to Walmart as receiving manager for 10 years.

David and Anita came together through mutual friends who said just go out with him - what will one date hurt. 44 years later they were still together.

He had several passions including OU football, Dallas Cowboy football and lately Thunder basketball. His biggest and proudest passion was his daughter Samantha. He was always proud of all her accomplishments.

He was preceded in death by his mother Margie, his stepbrother Dewayne, his brother in-law Don Sarasua,

aunt and uncle Norman and Betty Aldridge.

He is survived by his wife Anita, his daughter Samantha, his father David Aldridge Sr. (Patricia Aldridge), his sisters Sharon Clutter (Robert Clutter), Angelita Patterson, his father and mother in-law Jim and Virginia Sarasua, brother-in-law Jimmie Sarasua, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.

David was a gentle giant always putting a smile on everyone’s face and always had a joke. David was loved and will be greatly missed.

Services will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, OK.
