Dave Bash was born on October 23, 1935, to David A. and Natalie Dalton-Bash. He was a 1953 graduate of Bartlesville College High School where he was an AAU free style champion swimmer and a two-year letterman in baseball.
Mr. Bash was a 1957 graduate of Oklahoma State University with a degree in business administration with a major in marketing, he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Upon graduation from OSU, he accepted employment with Cities Service Oil Co. as a petroleum landman trainee and later worked as a field landman for 9 years out of their Wichita, KS, Amarillo and Midland, TX district exploration offices and for 3 years as a region staff landman in their Houston exploration office. In 1969 he accepted employment with Texas Pacific Oil Co. in Dallas and helped open a district exploration office in Oklahoma City where he became their district landman. In 1972, Mr. Bash resigned from Texas Pacific to do consulting work. In 1973 he formed and established DA Bash and Associates Inc., an oil and gas lease brokerage firm servicing the mid continent area. He owned and operated his company for almost 20 years.
He was recognized by his professional peers as a highly successful leader in the oil and gas lease brokerage business in the mid-continent area. He was certified as a professional landman in 1981 by the American Association of Professional Landmen and again recognized in 2014 for fifty years of dedicated service to his profession. Additionally, the Oklahoma City Association of Petroleum Landmen honored him April 1, 2002, with a life membership for his dedicated and continued association with this group.
Mr. Bash was an enthusiastic supporter of OSU sports, particularly their football program having held season football tickets for 50 years. He was a life member of the OSU Alumni Association and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Edmond. He spent many weekend retreats enjoying parasailing, boating, and skiing at his Lake Eufaula home with friends and family. He served as the first president of the Borgata Homeowners Association in Edmond.
He is survived by his daughter Debby Mullen and husband Tim Alexander and grandsons Chandler Mullen of Dallas, TX, and Garrett Mullen of Porter Ranch, CA., and daughter Susan Boyd and husband David Deason of Lubbock, TX, and grandsons Tanner and Carson Boyd of Ft. Worth, TX, and his sister Dorothy and husband Earl Larkin of Tulsa, OK, and nieces Kristen Lough of Sand Springs, OK and Kathryn Grufik of Tulsa, OK.
Public visitaion is to be held Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, Oklahoma.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 7, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville, OK.
