David G. Fraser
1955-2012
David Fraser, 57, was born in Oklahoma City on March 10, 1955 to Billy & Moonyueen Fraser. He passed away on Sunday, December 16, 2012 in Edmond, OK.
He graduated from Eisenhower HS in 1973 and Cameron University in 1977. He later received his MBA from Oklahoma City University.
David began working for the Lawton Public Schools as a computer analyst in 1979 and continued working in various positions through 1990. He then continued in education with the Edmond Public Schools as the Director of Administrative Services and was currently serving as the EPS Chief Financial Officer. David has been Edmond Public Schools chief financial officer since 2004. He was hired in 1990 as director of administrative services and in 2001, he was promoted to director of technology. David was a wise steward of what were often limited resources and his conservative approach helped to place the district in a sound financial position.
He leaves behind a loving wife, Donna, a longtime staff member at Edmond North High School; 2 children, Davis Fraser & Taurie Cottingham & husband Byron; and 2 grandchildren, Julia & Gabriel and his mother Moonyueen Fraser of Edmond. He was preceded in death by his father, Billy, and his brother, Tom.
Services will be held at 11 am, Friday, December 21, 2012, at New Covenant UMC of Edmond. Viewing will be held at Thursday at 6:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond.
