David L. Koch passed away on September 24, 2026, at home in his recliner in Edmond, OK. He was born December 21, 1947, at St. John's Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. His parents were Edith Harriet (DeeDee) Kinslow Koch and Lawrence Koch.
Dave attended West Nichols Hills and Wilson Elementary and graduated from North West Classen High School in 1967. He attended Oklahoma State University 1967-68-lived in Cordell Hall, University of Oklahoma 1968-69, and graduated from Central State University in 1976. He worked at the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in the Traffic Division retiring after 37 years, moved to Benham and Olson Engineering until 2023. (He retired after a total of 50 years.)
He married Linda Litton Koch in 1983 and moved to Edmond in 1986. He was a member of DeMolay in high school and an International Shriner at India Temple for many years. He loved watching politics, movies, and playing with his "Norwegian Forest" Show cats and later his rescue cats. His favorite line when signing off the internet was "Vote Blue no matter who. "
Donations to charity: "Free to Live Sanctuary " in Edmond, ACLU, and Defenders of Wildlife.
A celebration of Dave's life is planned for November at his home.
