David Allen Tero was born on July 30, 1973 in Melrose, Massachusetts and departed this life on Wednesday, April 22, 2020.
Dave moved to Edmond, OK in the spring of 1979 where he lived with his parents, Bob and Eunice Tero and his two brothers Dan and Kevin Tero. He graduated Edmond Memorial High School in 1992 where he played basketball and enjoyed his large group of friends.
After graduation, Dave moved to Tahlequah, OK to attend Northeastern State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree on May 10, 1997.
While attending college, Dave met his lovely wife Sherri Courchene and many other lifelong friends. After graduating Northeastern State University, Dave returned home to Edmond, OK where he continued in the family business as Owner and VP of Marketing and Sales.
Shortly after moving back, Dave and Sherri married in 1999 and continued to build their family having two sons, David John (17), Luke Allen (15) and their daughter Emma Rose (deceased.)
Dave was a very engaged father and enjoyed watching his kids play sports, taking them to the lake, and skiing in the mountains. He was an avid hunter and lover of country music. However, his favorite pastime was spending time with his friends and regaling them with many "True Stories." Dave never met a person he didn't love.
Dave is survived by his wife Sherri and sons John and Luke, his parents, Bob and Eunice Tero, brother Dan, wife Whitney with nephew Morgan and brother Kevin; in laws, Hank and Jeannie Van Veen and brother –in-law Dirk Van Veen, along with many other family and friends. Dave was preceded in death by his daughter Emma Rose, and his Grandparents Leo and Rita Tero, and Ralph and Eleanor Wilson.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 28th, 2020, 5:00pm – 8:00pm at Matthews Funeral Home, 601 S. Kelley Avenue, Edmond, OK 73003. Due to current restrictions, a private family service will be held Monday, May 4th, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church where the family is parishioners. A graveside service will follow. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date when restrictions are lifted.
