David Wayne Wilson, born December 21, 1931in Chanute, Kansas to Harry Roy Wilson and Minnie Ester (Overbay) Wilson. He was the 5th child out of 7 children. Dave married Bernice Louise Federer on December 17, 1955. They had two daughters, Cindy Waters and Brenda Benne.

Dave grew up on a farm in Kansas and was very outdoorsman. He loved to hunt and fish when he could get away from the farm. He enlisted in the Army when he was 20 years old. He served during the Korean war and was awarded several medals. When he returned from the service his parents had moved to Cheyenne, Wyoming, so he moved there also. That is where he met and married the love of his life, Bernice. Dave worked numerous jobs to support his family which included construction jobs, plumbing, driving trucks, and operating heavy equipment.

In the evenings and weekends, he would help his wife, who made drapes, go hang the curtain rods for extra money. They also worked together to remodel houses. He was never afraid of hard work. Dave was also an accomplished wood worker who could build anything out of wood. He loved building furniture and fixing things. Dave eventually bought a farm at Carpenter, Wyoming, where they lived for several years. He eventually changed it over to a dairy which they operated for about 5 years. They sold the dairy in 1978 and moved to Edmond, Ok. Dave worked in plumbing and eventually went back to driving a truck for a furniture company and then a steel company where he eventually retired.

After moving to Edmond, he eventually bought some land and built their own house, one of his greatest accomplishments. During this period, he also helped Bernice with her babysitting jobs where they became like family with kids they helped raise. During his life Dave was always a hardworking, dependable guy who was well respected everywhere he worked.

Dave loved the outdoors, which included hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He taught his dad to play golf so he would have someone to play with. Throughout the years he taught several people including his grandkids and great grandkids about golf. Dave was able to continue playing golf until he was 93 years old! What a life! Dave and Bernice also loved to travel and went on vacations around the states and overseas and went on numerous extended vacations, mostly where Dave could find great golf courses to play on!

They were able to live a great life and really enjoy themselves on a blue-collar worker's salary.

Dave is survived by 2 daughters, Cindy Waters and Brenda Benne. Grandchildren, Chauncy Waters, Codi Waters, David Benne, Robert Benne, Jesse Benne and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
