Debra Sue Johnson

1953-2021

Debra Sue Johnson "Debi" went to be with her Savior on Monday, May 17, 2021. She was a true child of God and was ready and eager to be united with Christ.  She is at true peace.

She was born in Kansas City, Missouri in November of 1953, 43 minutes after her twin sister Sandra Lou.

She graduated from Del Mar high school in San Jose in 1971, afterwards she attended business college.  Over the years she worked as an administrative and executive assistant for various companies. In every position she held she was a spiritual advisor, counselor, and was always there to lend a listening ear or be a prayer warrior. She left her mark wherever she was. She was a true blessing.

She was reunited Monday with many family members that have already received their heavenly reward.  Her family was her earthly blessing. Debi and Dan shared 47 years together, they loved watching movies together, taking walks, and car trips.  They loved watching their boys and grandkids follow their passions and went to as many events as they could.  Debi adored Dan, Damon, Adam, Karyn, Amy, Lily, Addy, & Jake; her family was her joy.

She shared a special bond with her sister Sandy.  They were truly best friends, and talked almost daily.  They had an unbreakable sister bond, their laughter together filled a room, and they took turns pranking each other over the years.  Her best friend Pam of 43 years was like a sister, and she will miss Deb's early morning message of, "you up?", and their tea breaks during the day.  Debi and Pam shared a special bond that they both deeply cherished.

Debi loved her Johnson family as well, and was thankful for a wonderful relationship with her in-laws, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Her family will miss…

Her smile & laughter lighting up the room, those delicious brownies, tapping her feet in excitement, her famous scrambled eggs, her Christmas eve pajama tradition with her grandkids, her holiday Gulliver's cream corn, watching her work her dog whisperer magic,  her competitive spirit when playing family games, hearing her saying "OUTRAGEOUS", her chicken teriyaki wings and deviled eggs, her ear piercing clap at ballgames, hearing her tea kettle whistle, listening to her animated stories, her sharing her devotionals, biblical wisdom and advice, hearing her whistle or hum to literally every song that was playing, her wise cracks & jokes, her ability to clear her throat across a room and get our attention, her leaving her "mark" of lipstick on our heads or cheeks and us not realizing it until later, and we will miss her sharing her faith and deep conversations.

Debi had a calling & gift to bless young women and be a spiritual mentor to them. She has led countless bible studies and blessed so many with her faith and love of Christ, she has shared her faith often.  She was a blessing to all those that knew her.  She will be truly missed.

Services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Memorial Road Church of Christ.
