Dee Anne McAulay Montgomery passed away on Friday, May 9 th at Iris Memory Care of Edmond at the age of 82. Born on July 10 th , 1942, in Cushing, OK, she was the daughter of the late Lewis Calvin McAulay and Alma June Usher McAulay. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Lewis McAulay and his wife Grace and her loving companion, L.D. "Dean" Naranche.
She is survived by two daughters Michelle Griffin and her husband Scott, Whitney Grubb and her husband Cimarron, granddaughter, Britni Hosick (Bryan) of Illinois, grandson, Chandler Griffin of Edmond, granddaughters, Abby DeFatta (Philip) of Norman, Sydney Grubb (Jordan Womack) of Norman, niece, Starla Beaty of Moore, three great-grandchildren, Beau & Clay Hosick & Elijah Womack and many special cousins.
Dee graduated from Cushing High School in 1960. While in school she was a twirler in the HS Band, a member of Student Council and Tigerette pepclub and held many special honors such as Band Queen, Wrestling Queen & FFA Sweetheart.
She graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1964 with a degree in Education. She loved her OSU Cowboys always sporting her orange & black. She was a twirler in the OSU Marching Band and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. Dee had a creative and artistic side and in addition to raising her girls, she had a long career as an Interior Designer in Edmond having her own business "Dee's Design" for many years.
Dee was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend. She was "Nana" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a strong lady with a feisty side and wonderful sense of humor which was necessary to keep up with her son-in-law's. She grew up attending St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Cushing and considered her church home in OKC to be St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church.
Mom's most favorite things: traveling with her girls such as Italy with Whitney and seeing the NE Fall Foliage with Michelle, and many special times with her grandchildren and son-in-law's. She loved her trips to Montana with Dean, fishing and playing as much golf as possible!

Services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at St. Augustine of Canterbury Episcopal Church, 14700 N May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73134. Interment will be held at Fairlawn Cemetery in Cushing, Oklahoma.
