Dolores L. McDaniel
1918-2015
Dolores Louise McDaniel went to be with the Lord Monday, March 16, 2015. She was born in Oklahoma City on December 2, 1918, to Claudell and Mabel Marshal. She was 96 years of age.
Preceded in death by her parents, brother Orven Marshal, sister Vera Wise, daughter Darlene Wren, grandson Troy McDaniel, great grandson J.A. Wilson, and great great granddaughter Jacksyn Kate Hamilton.
At 17 Dolores married Rayford Richard McDaniel. This union produced six children. Patsy (J.B.) Goins, Betty (Jackie) Ross, Darlene Wren, Sammy (Francis) McDaniel, Glenda (Jim) Turner, and Larry (Linda) McDaniel.
Dolores worked for Van's Bakery, Shott's Café, Edmond Hospital, 20 years at Oklahoma Christian Home, and 30 years at Central State University, also known as the University of Central Oklahoma, where she retired at the age of 82 years.
Dolores loved to travel anywhere anytime and enjoyed many family vacations.
Dolores was a great caregiver who was content with the simple things in life.
She never spoke an unkind word, offered un-authorized advice, or criticized others. She always had your back. These gifts – no doubt – came from the Lord Jesus Christ who she loved fiercely.
Dolores grew up in Edmond First Church of the Nazarene and was its oldest living member at the time of her passing.
Dolores will be buried at the IOOF Cemetery in Arcadia. Graveside services are under the direction of Matthews Funeral Home on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2:00 p.m.
