Donald Joe Millard

1943-2024

Donald Joe Millard, 81, of Edmond, Oklahoma, passed away on October 29, 2024. Born on October 11, 1943, in Kingman, Kansas, Don grew up in Rago and graduated from Kingman High School before earning an associate degree from Pittsburg State University.

A proud veteran, Don served six years in the United States Army Reserve, attaining the rank of SP 5. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Pearl (Rainwater) Millard, sister Jeri Higdon, and beloved wife, Mary (Bleam) Millard.

Don is survived by his sister, Bonnie Couch, and her husband Don of Attica, Kansas; his loving wife, Louann Millard; and his children Celestia Bennett (husband Clint) of Midwest City, Jennifer Cooper (husband Doug) of Edmond, and Aaron Millard of Alva. He cherished his stepdaughters Jeny Roberts (husband Neil) and Rachelle Metheny (husband Beau). Don's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Cheyenne Ogletree (husband Austin), Dakota Bennett (fiancée Ellie), Sierra Krevinghaus (husband Devin), Hunter Stancell (husband Kelly), SeaJay and Joseph Cooper, Mitchell, Mark, Megan, and Mallory Roberts, as well as Mason and Maverick Metheny. His great-granddaughter, Avie Ogletree, held a special place in his heart.

Don was a man of many talents—welder, farmer, dairyman, machinist, long-haul trucker, and mechanic. He was known for his kindness, radiant smile, and profound love for God, never missing an opportunity to share his faith. Whether chatting with a cashier or conversing with medical staff, Don spread the Gospel with warmth and sincerity.

In his younger years, he enjoyed photography, woodworking, and welding. Later, he found joy in watching farming and construction videos on YouTube. Above all, Don loved his family, and his face would light up at their presence.

Memorial services will be held on November 8, 2024 at the Edmond Church of Christ at 10:00 a.m. and on November 16, 2024 at the Kingman Church of Christ at 10:30 a.m. Don's spirit and love will forever be cherished by all who knew him.
