Donna Carolyn Johnson
September 23, 1943 – February 4, 2021
Donna Carolyn Johnson passed away peacefully to go be with her Lord on February 4, 2021 at the age of 77.
Donna was born on September 23, 1943 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Donald Chester Lance and Geraldine Tucker-Rutherford. She grew up in Wewoka and attended Wewoka Schools. Donna graduated from Wewoka High School in 1961 and later went to Oklahoma State University where she achieved her degree. She retired from the Oklahoma State Department of Health where she worked in the Special Services Division's architectural department for over 30 years.
Donna enjoyed going to the lake with her dog to soak up some sun, fresh air, and enjoy lunch. As a young child Donna always had a love for reading books which never changed. She could read one faster than most people could get started on one. She loved people and never met a stranger.
Donna was a devoted and loving mother and is survived by her three children, two sons, Kenneth Johnson, and wife Robin of Edmond, OK, Christopher Johnson Sr., and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City, OK, and daughter Lynne Jones and fiancé Richard Slaughter of Midwest City, OK. Three grandsons, Christopher Johnson Jr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Jonathan Walker of Stonewall, OK, and Jaxson Johnson of Edmond, Ok. Three granddaughters, Kate Burghart of Harrah, OK, Whitney Walker of Oklahoma City, OK, and Jennifer Pointer of Oklahoma City, OK, along with 10 great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Patti Gillespie and husband Charlie of Arizona, Janie Melton, and husband Roger of McAlester, OK, and Sheila Latimer, and husband Jerry of McAlester, OK. Two brothers, Stanley Rutherford, and wife Barbara of Lawton, OK, and Gary Lance, and wife Brenda of Georgia.
Donna was preceded in death by her father Donald and mother Geraldine, along with five brothers. Ernie, Steve, Mark, Bob, and Warren.
Donna will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her.
