Donna  L. Miller, age 78, of Apollo Beach, FL, passed away on February 9, 2025. She was born on August 28, 1946, in Erwin, TN to Roy L. and Ida Elizabeth "Betty" (Presnell) Barnett. She graduated from Kenwood High School in 1964. She Married Dwight Miller September 9, 1967, in Middle River, MD.

Donna, fondly referred to as Dee, worked at Chambers interior design firm and later Western Electric in Baltimore, MD., where she met her husband, Dwight. She was a stay-at-home mother till her daughter started elementary school and worked as a librarian and substitute teacher at Mountain Christian school in MD. She was gifted at arts and crafts and owned 2 craft stores, one in Joppatowne MD and one in Winston-Salem NC. From 1984 to 1988 Donna and family lived in Winston-Salem NC.

The family moved to Edmond, OK in 1988. Donna worked as a PBX operator and was an active member of the Employee Advisory Committee at Edmond Regional Hospital. After her husband's passing in 2016 she moved to Apollo Beach, FL. She was passionate about rehabilitating orphaned wild animals, classic cars, southern cooking, gospel music, and gardening, but her main focus in life was her family.

Donna is preceded in death by her parents, Ida and Roy Barnett, her husband, Dwight Miller, and nephew Steven Bailey.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Candiece Barnthouse, and husband Tim Barnthouse of Edmond, OK, her grandson, Tabor C. Talley, and wife Katrina Talley of Yukon, OK, and her great-grandchildren, Zoey Elizabeth Talley, and Athena Grace Talley of Yukon, OK. She is also survived by cousin/"baby brother" Duane Phillips of Heath Springs, SC, lifelong friend and "sister" Cole Zanchetta of Gainesville, TX, and sister-in-law, Sandra Bailey of Spring Hill, Fl. As well as her nephews, Kirk Katzenberger and wife Karen of Forest Hill, MD, Shawn Bailey of Spring Hill, Fl, Terry Bailey of Baltimore, MD, and  niece Teresa Bailey of Baltimore, MD. Donna leaves behind many loving grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extended family members and cherished friends.

Public visitation will be held Friday, February 14, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Matthews Funeral Home in Edmond, OK.

Services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2025, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at the Matthews Funeral Home Chapel in Edmond, OK. Interment will take place following the service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Paws for Life of Edmond, OK, https://pawsforlifeinc.com/donations/ ,  or the Wounded Warrior Project in Donna's name.
