Donnie Dean Dupus
1935-2020
Donnie Dean Dupus, (Don) was born August 12, 1935 in McWillie, Oklahoma. After a valiant effort to work through multiple health issues over the last 12 years he passed from this life and joined his Savior on January 28, 2020 surrounded by family. Don was raised by his loving parents Carl & Mary Jane Dupus. Don met the love of his life, Ella Leer Dupus, and they were married on August 6 th, 1955 at the Church of the Brethren in Oklahoma, City. Don & Ella shared a wonderful life together for almost 60 years before Ella passed away in 2015. The joy of their marriage included raising 2 sons Mark Dupus and Derrick Dupus. This joy was multiplied many times over with the birth of their grandchildren & great grandchildren. Don was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, & great-grandfather and was loved & respected by his entire family. Don's career started with Miller Jackson Company in Oklahoma City and he traveled 5 states through the years until he retired in 2007. He and Ella also owned The Cadee Did gift shop in Midwest City, Oklahoma. He was a wonderful provider for his family and loved to serve others. Don was a Sunday School Director and a Deacon at Classen Boulevard Baptist Church in Oklahoma City and loved his church greatly. Don's legacy includes his devotion to God, the love for his family, his love for his church, and his love for Tony, his cat. His favorite activities were traveling, attending both his and Ella's family reunions and he loved being able to spend time with his birth mother, sister, brothers, and his and Ella's extended family.
Don was proceeded in death by his wife Ella Dupus, his parents Carl & Mary Jane Dupus & Ruby D Robertson Wright, and 2 brothers Bob Dupus & Jon Williams.
Don is survived by his sister Glenda Carr and his brother Joe Willliams, his sons Mark Dupus and wife Lisa, and Derrick Dupus and wife Amy, 4 grandchildren, Melanie Ransom and husband Grant, Melissa Dupus, Darren Dupus and wife Maegen, Chase Dupus and wife Jamie, & step granddaughter Stephanie Glenn, along with 3 great-grandchildren Maddox & Emersyn Ransom & Silas Dupus, and step great granddaughter Eva Glenn, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Public visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, January 31, 2020 at Matthews Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Classen Boulevard Baptist Church with interment to follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
