Doris L. Dowell
1932-2013
Doris L. Dowell passed away on September 19, 2013 at Epworth Villa in Oklahoma City, and is now truly at peace. She was born on March 6, 1932 to Garland L.Wayland and Ida Christabelle Vandevier in Wynnewood, OK. She grew up in Chandler, OK and lived there until her marriage to Clyde E. Dowell, Jr. They established their home in Edmond, OK, where she lived most of her adult life. Doris was preceded in death by her husband of 41years.
Doris had a long and dedicated career with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. She was a lifelong member and servant at First Christian Church in Edmond. Family gatherings were most important to her and left a smile on her face.
She is survived by her 3 sons and their wives, Garry and Martina Dowell, Larry and Shari Dowell, and Clyde Dowell; brothers Glen Wayland, Bill Wayland and John Wayland; and 6 grandchildren, Ashley Dowell, Matthew and Sarah Dowell, and Madison, Lauren, and Walker Dowell.
Services will be held at First Christian Church in Edmond, OK at 1:30 pm on Monday, September 23, 2013.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church – Edmond building fund.
