Doris Carolyn Owen

November 30, 1942 — November 30, 2022

Doris Carolyn Owen affectionately, known as "Grandma Purple" took her last breath on earth Tuesday, November 28th surrounded by family. Carolyn was born in Greenbrier, TN on February 10th, 1943. To parents; Bailey and Iva Brown. Carolyn spent the majority of her 80 years serving others, taking care of those in need and spreading laughter and light to everyone she came into contact with. Carolyn was a dear friend, a daughter, a sister, a mother and best friend to her daughters. She was a cherished grandma, and an even better great grandma. A true head strong spirit, in the best possible way. Carolyn was a witty and full of life Grandma that loved flannels, cats, searching for donkeys, tall colorful socks, old westerns, Jack Sparrow, rubber duckies, Green Bay packers and animal print. Above all she loved her family and EVERYTHING purple. You could always find her with her matching t shirt and tall socks ready to take on the day! No one was ever a stranger, and she found the most joy in "helping the little old people" that needed it. She was fierce and stubborn, and no one could tell her a thing if she had already made up her mind. She will be missed, endlessly. Carolyn is preceded in death by her father, Bailey Brown, mother Iva Brown, and great granddaughter Rylee Jade Alvarez. She is survived by brother Ken Brown and wife Deb, nephew Shane Brown and niece Mandy Brown Johnson. Two children, daughter Sylvia Van Den Busch and husband Joe. Daughter Angela Green and husband Cecil.

Grandchildren Tina; spouse Brian, Lynn; spouse Aaron, Michael; spouse Jenn, Kayla; spouse Matt. Melissa; spouse Lance, Renee, Matthew; spouse Jenny, and Brittany.

And 15 great grandchildren –  Children of Tina – Levi and Wyatt. Children of Lynn – Axel and Nataley. Children of Michael – Kinsley and Kailee. Children of Melissa – Arianna, Kohen, Elise, and Javen. Children of Renee – Amber and Laylah. Children of Matthew – Kaylee, Hunter, and Skylah.

Carolyn will live on in the many hearts she touched with memories that will invoke smiles and be held close until we all are reunited again.

Carolyn's celebration of life will be held at Matthews Funeral home in Edmond, Oklahoma on Tuesday December 5th at 2pm.
